The Ravenna String Orchestra The Ravenna String Orchestra is conducted by Joseph Pollard White. It is usually more advanced and focusses on the 'standard' repertoire. There are no auditions and all ages (over 13) are welcome. Rehearsals are informal and low pressure, however, members of the orchestra are serious about preparing for the short concerts which conclude each quarter. The Ravenna Strings are sponsored by Seattle Parks and Recreation. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings, 7:15 - 8:30 p.m., at the Ravenna-Eckstein Community Center, 6535 Ravenna Ave. NE, Seattle. The course fee varies per session and is approximately $100. Scholarship is available: no one will ever not be allowed to participate due to finances. Bring a stand! |
